My List Is Growing...

Okay, it's not going to be that much shopping, but I am hoping to hit a few favorite stores while the toddler is hangin' with Nan&Pop this weekend. I'm in desperate need a few tees, some capris and a non-bra bra for a new maxi dress I just bought. I need those cuppy-thingings that hold you without any strappage because...well, strappage is bad with a maxi dress. And before you suggest it, one thing I won't be getting? A corsets. Why? Because I might put my own eye out if I look down while wearing one. I think corsets can be really pretty...but they just aren't for me. Having a corset under the maxi dress would be even worse than a bra...so, a few things on my list. Anything on yours?

...And Here's Another Article Idea!

Isn't it funny where the article ideas come from? As we're driving home from the baby-less vacation and stop at a rest area. Where a woman has gotten her oxygen tank stuck in the door of one of the bathroom stalls. Seriously. Stuck. She apparently kicked it and it lodged, giving the cleaning staff a huge hassle and issue to deal with. But it got me thinking: what are the best evergo oxygen concentrators? are there any out there that won't get stuck/be a nuisance at some point? Which brought me to the big article idea: the top medical equipment for people who don't want to be pinned down by their illness. So far the research is hard but going well and I'm sending the query out later this week!

Book Review Time!

I just finished A Woman With Secrets by Inglath Cooper...and thought I'd pass along my thoughts on the book. Here's the blurb:

Kate Winthrop's sizable inheritance was stolen by her ex, so she does what any wronged woman would - she steals it back. Now all Kate wants is a place to hide, she doesn't expect the other passengers on a boat destined for the Caribbean to become friends and she doesn't expect to fall in love with ship's captain Cole Hunter, either...

I fully expected not to buy into a thieving heroine, a runaway trip to the Caribbean...but by the 2nd chapters I was totally hooked. Inglath Cooper draws a very relatable heroine in Kate - filled with insecurities, anger and quite a bit of common sense, Kate is captivating to read. Cole is equally likeable as a man on a mission to find his daughter. A couple of the secondary characters seemed a little trite, but they didn't take away from the good story surrounding Kate and Cole. If you're looking for a heartwarming romance - with a little bit of sass injected - pick this one up!

If you're in the market for a few new (or not so new) books, try this link: books. They've got a great selection and great prices!

Sometimes You Need A Goal!

You guys know I'm a big believer in resolutions and goal setting - I set daily, weekly and monthly goals for the writing (both fiction and nonfiction) and at the beginning of each year I set a few personal goals for the year. Here's my check-in since we've passed the half-way point:

My first resolution for the new year? To improve my health. I was doing really well with the walking over the summer and then we moved, fall/winter hit and with it cold weather...and let's just say most days the most I do is walk through my house a few times. Not nearly enough movements - as my caboose will tell you! One thing I'm not doing is taking pills, even those supposedly supported by doctors. There are just too many questions. I did find an interested review site, though, if you're interested: apidexin review...but before you do, please talk to your doctor first.

So, I resolve to improve my health. How about you?

What are your resolutions? Why not put them out there - give yourself an extra incentive to do well before the year is out!

Somebody Get Me A Margarita!

Well, we're finally back from vacation -- which was wonderful, by the way! -- and headed out again in a few days for a conference. Sometimes I really feel like I live out of my suitcase during the summer months! Not that I'm complaining because we always see so many fun, unique places.

Now that we're back, though, and out of our vacation condo, I've realized that our house is missing something. Good patio furniture. Our condo had a great wrought iron set with a big umbrella and chairs that actually rock a bit so you can kind of lull yourself to sleep. I wouldn't suggest doing that without first slathering on the SPF 500000! Several days I tried to stay in my chair as long as possible and asked the hubster or the toddler to get things for me. Don't worry, I got plenty of things for them.

But now that we're home I find myself wanting to relax in those chairs and ask for a margarita...and I don't think I'll find one just yet!
